You can be part of Girl Tech 2013!
Media Literacy Project is currently recruiting Girl Tech program participants and volunteers! A participant must identify as a young woman of color, be between the ages of 15 and 24, and have a passion for making change in her community! A volunteer is anyone who is interested in videomaking and in working with young women of color to build their leadership skills. Volunteers assist with providing rides for youth participants, facilitating workshops, picking up food, or mentoring on video production steps such as storyboarding, shooting, or editing. The program will kick off with orientation sessions in March, and continue through the fall when the videos are completed and a screening party is held to honor the filmmakers and volunteers. If you would like to be part of Girl Tech 2013 as a participant or a volunteer, or if you know someone who would benefit from the program, please contact jessica [at] medialiteracyproject [dot] org (Jessica Collins).
Girl Tech 2013 will be Media Literacy Project’s fourth year of our Girl Tech program. For more information on Girl Tech, please visit our website.
