This message was created by Tide in order to try to sell more laundry detergent.Judging by the picture I would say that the target audience is young working class families. From the image I imagine that a father and son are taking a nap on a Sunday afternoon. The text in the image is "Tide with a touch of Downy, cuddle up with the softness and freshness" and there is a tide bottle of detergent. The image has a lot of white in it; the father and son t-shirt, the pillow, the window sill. To me it seems crisp and fresh. Also, the son sleeping on the father emphasises the "cuddle" part of the message.I think the image represents family values. To me it seems like a father and son are hanging out on a weekend day and they decide to take a nap together. I do not see any negative messages or empowerment or disempowerment.
