Campaigns

Through local and national partnerships, the Media Literacy Project works in New Mexico to impact national and local media policies that benefit all communities.

We work to ensure that New Mexico’s communities are heard by state and national decision-makers. In particular, we ensure that youth, immigrant, poor, low-income, and rural communities are at the center of the conversation. Through our campaigns, we advocate for stronger policies that make certain New Mexico’s most marginalized communities have access to affordable media tools and are accurately represented in media.

We work hard against race-baiting of immigrants and people of color in current political debates.  Our work doesn’t stop at confronting harmful media representations and messages. We also work in coalition with local and national groups to create and adopt policies that reflect the needs of communities who are most targeted by ad campaigns and marketing lies.
